This is an awesome piece. You're really good at digital painting - you paint smoothly. Its interesting how the red theme picks up around the piece, like a blood red storm brewing. I really like Enjolras's grim expression and the detil you put into their hair. However, I feel that too much of the clothing blends into the background - I think they need more outlines to prevent that. It also looks strangely inconsistent when you look at the faces with the outlines and the bodies without them. The badge thingies (I don't know what they're called) could also use a bit of definition because they blend into the clothes a bit too much. It would also help define them from the background a bit. I think the flag could do with a bit of outline too.
I hope you found this useful and I haven't trod on your toes.
This was quite a lovely piece. Their almost back-to-back pose is quite interesting, and the rain in the background makes the piece look somber and quite dark. Their tri-color rosettes look awesome, especially how they're just a little blurred. I love the water dripping of Enjolras's rest vest, and you've managed to do a pretty great side-view of Marius. (Trust me... side views are so hard they nearly kill me!) Now for my critical part: While the eye of Marius's that we can see looks alive and sad, Enjolras's eyes don't seem to hold the same fire, and he is the leader. I think his eyes should be all but blazing, you know? The eyes also look the tiniest bit lopsided, and his mouth is a bit too downturned. Other than that, this is honestly quite beautiful!
This is amazing! Great work! I was wondering if i could use this has a reference. If you agreed i would draw/ try to draw this again free handed on paper and if it comes out good... ill submit it on my profile with the link to this page. If you disagree, i completely understand and i will not draw it or post it at all.
Okay I watched it with my friend without knowing it was a musical. So me and my friend where sitting and laughing our ass out in the beginning but I end up crying in the end. Sob... Crybaby I know.... but it was so touching in the end -sploiler alert-where all the fallen where waving there flags and singing. All in all a really good movie
I love Enjolras! The guy whoplayed him in the film was brilliant! I was so sad when, well, I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it but for those who have, you know what I'm talking about! Wasn't too keen on the guy who played Marius - eech!
Oh my gosh! I loved, loved this movie. Oh would so very much see this again.
But anyways (sorry about that!), gorgeous job on this piece! I really like how you have the two right next to each other, like their protecting each other from the coming (happening?) battle. The rain makes this piece seem even more tragic, along with the flag in the back. Just beautiful! I loved these two characters. And the songs these two sang? I think I died happily.
